Tourist Visa - General Visitor
How can apply this type of visa?
You can apply for this visa if you intend to travel to the United Kingdom as a tourist or if you propose to visit family or friends. The visit visa category also allows artists, sportsperson and those requiring medical treatment to enter the UK under this category. The tourist/visit visa does not allow applicants to work or carry out any business activities.
The duration of the visit visa can vary, it is possible to obtain a visit visa with the duration of 6 months, 24 months, 60 months and 120 months. Long term visas are offered to frequent visitors and those who have a genuine reason to travel to the UK. The visa officer will decide whether you qualify for a long term visa, should a visa be granted for a shorter period you will not be refunded the difference.

General Visitor
You are an adult and intend to travel to the UK as a tourist, for example for a holidays or to visit friends and distant relatives (Definition "distant relatives") - Children are granted a “child visitor" visa

NOT: Spouse, Children, Parents, Grandparents, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, Parents of Spouse, Step-Parents, Daughter- or Son-In-Law, Step Children, Step Siblings
Child Visitor
You are under 18 and wish to travel to the UK for a short language course, a short holiday or to visit friends and family. All minors are issued a child visitor visa
Family Visitor
You intend to visit a family member in the UK, this family member is settled in the UK as a British national or has an unlimited residence permit (Definition "family members")

Marriage Visitor
You intend to travel to the UK to get married, after marriage you will return to take up residency in Germany
Sports Visitor
You intend to come to the UK to take part in a specific sports-related event or activity or as part of the support staff or an official working on a sporting event
Medical Treatment Visitor
You intend to travel to the UK for a private consultation or medical treatment for less than 6 months
Entertainer Visitor
You are an entertainer and will take part in 1 or more specific performances as an inliidual amateur entertainer or as an amateur group or you will perform at a major arts festival without a work permit. Permitted paid Engagement
You intend to come to the UK to do specific paid work for less than 1 month without having to be sponsored under the points-based visa system
Processing times
Interview slots are allocated by the Consulate in some cases you may have to wait longer than 5 days depending on availability. Please apply no latest than four weeks before you intend to travel.
Prices
In general, the total price is calculated as follows, the Visas United service fee + consular fees + fee of the visacenter VFS Global.
Visas United processing fee is € 299 for the first person. If there is any other person in the same order, the fee is € 249.
The consulate fee is currently about € 147,00 for each person (The fees may vary depending on the rate of exchange).
The fee of the visa application center VFS Global is € 98,00 + € 58,00 scanning fee.
Self-pick-up is free of charge. If you wish to have you passport returned by courier there is a charge of € 58,00.

Please note the current processing times of the UKVI visa authority before placing your order! If you are planning a trip at Christmas or New Year's Eve, it is possible to place an order until 1.11.24. Express orders can be placed until 22.11.24 - please note the additional costs!
In November/December 2024, the British visa authority changed providers for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Since then, the visa provider TLS is no longer responsible for UK visas, but VFS Global.

The company Visas United is an Agency that charges a fee to prepare your Visa application. Our company neither belongs to an Embassy, Consulate or any other official government department.
You can also apply for a visa independently. In which case you will be required to pay the consular fees to the consulate. Information about the respective consular fees and further information on independent applications can be found on the official website of the Embassy.
Current notices
In November/December 2024, the British visa authorities will change providers for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. From this date, the visa provider TLS will no longer be responsible for UK visas - VFS Global will process all applications in the future.
Russian and Belarusian visa applicants are experiencing significant delays in UK visa application processing times. Although the UK has not suspended applications from nationals of Russia and Belarus, applicants should expect long delays this is because Uk Visa Applications from Russia and Belarus nationals are subject to further security checks following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Many European countries temporarily suspended visas for Russian citizens in 2022. The UK has not taken this step.
